The many creative sides of a Cajun artist.
A self-taught, left handed pencil artist since the age of eight, this Cajun artist specializes in graphite and enjoys drawing portraits from original photographs.
She has also experimented with different mediums including pen and ink, prisma colored pencils, acrylic paints, and oil pastels. Not being a professional of any kind, she tends to be a perfectionist at everything she puts her mind and hands on.
Currently, she is trying to enjoy perfecting her skills of photography, writing, and drawing.
A question to ask yourself...
"Which of your 'professions' brings out the best in you?"
In 1985 she became interested in writing poetry which is only one of the many given talents that she has been blessed with and one that will continue to grow with her. Writing her thoughts down as they evolve allows her to express her own personal feelings and thoughts.
Indeed, there is a bit of struggling for her own quiet time, but when she is alone with pen in hand, it can surely lead to hours of revising.
For her own satisfaction, she wants to catch the reader's eye by adding her own personalized 'watermarked' illustration to each one of her own original poems. In her opinion, this "draws" more attention to the real meaning of the poem.
As she recognized the love for drawing and writing were always in her heart, her interests in photography and arts and crafts were always there too, but was never really "unveiled" until after she married her husband on Valentine's Day of 1997.
As the years went by, she later developed more natural skills for these new creative hobbies that, as of today, also steals her heart.
This Cajun artist has many other interests as well. These include storm chasing, gardening, teaching, music, learning HTML and web design, health and dieting, shopping at antique malls, traveling, textiles, carpentry, nature and the outdoors, and so much more!
As everyone may know from their own experience, we all have too many interests and not enough time in a day to enjoy each and every one!
Although not a professional of any one kind, she does seem to be a real "perfectionist" when it comes to her own personal abilities.
